Associate of Science in Health Administration Services

Associate of Science in Medical Assisting

The Associate of Science in Medical Assisting (ASMA) program is designed to prepare you to perform various technical and administrative skills as a member of a healthcare team in various settings. The student can develop skills in phlebotomy, electrocardiograms, medication administration, minor surgical techniques, emergency medical procedures, and office procedures.

  • Practice within the scope of the Medical Assistant role in healthcare settings (acute care, long-term care, physician clinics, and medical record departments)
  • Function effectively as a healthcare team member
  • Demonstrate evidence of knowledge learned in courses promoting general competencies (such as anatomy, physiology, medical law, ethics, etc.)
  • Demonstrate competency in clinical skills (such as phlebotomy, injections, technology in the clinical setting, etc.)
  • Demonstrate proficiency in administrative skills (such as billing, coding, scheduling, computer skills, etc.)

Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management

Healthcare management professionals work in a dynamic field that affects the well being of individuals and families. Colorado Technical University's Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management (BS-HCM) degree program is designed to help prepare you to work in a healthcare environment using skills in finance, community relations and human resource management. The objective of this Healthcare Management program is to help provide trained healthcare workers with the appropriate general education, didactic theory, and hands-on skills necessary for advancement into management within healthcare.

Based on theory and application, CTU’s Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management program can provide a well-rounded study regimen in this exciting field. Courses focus on building leadership skills, communications abilities and a strong knowledge of the industry. You can learn critical skills in team-building, technical aptitude in core functions and systems, and problem-solving abilities on unique healthcare issues. Additionally, you can learn strategies for enhancing relations with the community and your constituencies. You will also have the opportunity to learn important regulations and how to support your organization’s compliance needs, including patient privacy and HIPPA laws as well as changing issues in billing and insurance.

Through a diverse range of courses in finance, ethics, communications, business and various healthcare areas, this degree can help you learn the tools to contribute to your organization’s performance and advance your opportunities.
