Associate's - Health Care Administration

The associate's degree in health care administration prepares students to understand the essential components of managerial and organizational support in the health care industry. Students will learn how various health care systems operate and the multiple aspects of the field. At the same time, they will receive hands-on training in the administrative facets of health care services for the general public.

Graduates of this program will be prepared for entry-level positions in:

  • Hospitals

  • Home health care agencies
  • Public health settings
  • Other health care related organizations

Associate's - Medical Assisting

The Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assisting program prepares graduates to work under the direction of physicians in a private practice or medical setting. Students develop a solid foundation in communication and problem-solving skills through general education course work.

A diploma program is also available in medical assisting.

Associate's - Medical Office Management

The program in medical office management is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in an insurance coding and billing department of a physician's office, clinic or hospital.

Graduates may perform clerical and administrative tasks, analyze information, and combine that with knowledge of insurance reimbursement and coding guidelines to expedite physician payments.

Associate's - Surgical Technology

The Associate of Science degree program in Surgical Technology is designed to provide students with the required knowledge base and technical skills required to obtain entry-level employment in the field of surgical technology.

To achieve this goal, the program curriculum provides study in:

  • General and specialty surgical procedures
  • Principles of anesthesia
  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Medical terminology
  • Surgical technology techniques

Additional course work in general education helps students to grow professionally and develop the ability to assume leadership roles.

*The Surgical Technology program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARC/STSA).

Associate's - Veterinary Technology

The Veterinary Technology program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills leading to entry-level employment in a variety of veterinary clinical settings and related fields. Graduates of this program will be prepared to provide a wide range of clinical skills including animal patient care, laboratory procedures, medical imaging, anesthesia administration and monitoring, and surgical assistance for a variety of domestic animals.

Certificate - Medical Assistant

The medical assistant program provides graduates with the skills necessary to obtain entry-level employment in a clinical and/or administrative medical setting. The program prepares graduates for entry-level positions under the direct supervision of a physician or medical office manager through course work in:

  • Medical office administration
  • Clinical procedures
  • Pharmacology
  • Business principles
  • Computer operations
