Dental Assistant - Diploma

Dental assistant programs prepare students to work closely with dentists and ensure that dental practices are operating with a high degree of efficiency.

You may also maintain patient profiles, prepare insurance forms, and stock and take inventory of medications.

Upon graduation, students will be qualified to work as pharmacy assistants in clinics, hospitals or retail pharmacies.

Your training prepares you to become a vital person in the medical office. You'll update patient medical records, fill out reports, lab tests, diagnoses and treatment plans. Your duties are to evaluate records for completeness and ensure that essential info is in the computer.

Duties may also include taking medical histories and recording vital signs, explaining treatment procedures to patients, preparing patients for exams and assisting physicians.

Upon graduation, you will be qualified to work as a Medical Assistant, a Medical Receptionist, a Medical Insurance Biller, a Medical Bookkeeper or a Laboratory Assistant in places like a physician's office, a health practitioner's office or outpatient care centers, among others.
